The other day when I updated you on my daughters room for the One Room Challenge, I showed you the Button art that we made.
So I thought I’d show you how we put it together and a cute pic I found on my camera.
Here is what I did…
I took a canvas that I had picked up at Dollarama long ago and painted it the same colour as her walls using her wall paint.
Then to get perfect lines, I taped on painter’s tape and in-between the lines I added a piece of tape at the beginning and end of my lines, to keep the lines somewhat straight.
Then I removed the smaller strips, and painted my lines. Once it was all dried, I freehanded an “H” on it with a pencil and a ruler. I obviously didn’t measure out the space on the sides since my “H” is not centred. But you can do that.
Then I picked out my buttons and glued them on. One by one. Burning my fingers over and over again.
I love the pop of colour in that corner of the room.
And there you go, a quick how-to make inexpensive personalized art for your kiddo’s room.
Here’s a close-up of the necklace holder. Same idea with painting the stripes and then we added cup hooks for the necklaces.
